I have been in touch with Darlington Council who inform me there is currently no specific provision for Social Enterprise there - other than the traditional Startup support.
Hopefully one of the Darlington officers will be able to attend on the 15th to gain an understanding of what SED can provide and achieve.
Thereafter it may be worth progressing an idea to include Darlington Social Enterprises within SED.
Maybe we can discuss this briefly on the day? Unless anyone has any comments now . .

It may be worth deciding the issue before the new company is set up, since the name should (probably)reflect the main area of operation.
It is worth having an online discussion about the name anyway, just in case anyone has a brilliant idea that has not been put forward.
For example, I believe Social Enterprise Sunderland are now SES, since they have found that their work was taking them into models that didn't easily fit the traditional social enterprise boxes.
Anyone got some inspiration on this one ?
